Jessica Dewald
President
Hi. My name is Jessica and I am currently a fourth year psychology student at Red Deer Polytechnic. I am also pursuing an anthropology minor in addition to my psychology major. It is so intriguing to me to study how psychology and anthropology intersect especially in terms of trauma. In addition to being a full time student, I am a mom of three kids and two big fluffy dogs! I am always on my way somewhere (school, or dance/swim for my kiddos) but will always make time to represent the students at RDP to the best of my abilities. I am extremely excited to see where the RDP Psyc Society goes this year and how we can grow as a community. I am also very inspired by our team and I know that we will do our best to make things happen. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Hi everyone! My name is Abby. I'm a 4th year Psychology student. For the past year and a half, I have been lucky to work as a Research Technician with Jones Adjei and Choon-Lee Chai. For this year, I am doing Applied Research with Emile Johnson. My research experience involves equity, diversity, and inclusivity, which I'm hoping to bring in Psych society. I aspire to be a Social Psychologist who focus on racial issues. Outside of work and school, I enjoy hanging out with my dog, crocheting, and taking film photos

Hey everyone! My name is Hannah, and I am thrilled to have been elected as your Psyc Society secretary this year!
I am currently in my fourth year of the BSc Psychology program and plan on applying to grad schools in the near future to further pursue my interests in social psychology. This year, I have the privilege of working under Shannah Engert on an independent research project aimed at analyzing perfectionistic traits and behaviours in students.
I am very excited to be part of the Psyc Society and I look forward to see what this year will bring!

I am a fourth year Psychology student and mom of three beautiful children. My focus is developmental psychology specifically in the field of adulthood and aging, my goal is to work in long term care facilities doing program planning and research regarding older adults. It took me longer than most to pursue my passion for psychology, however I am so glad that I did and want to encourage others, regardless of age to pursue their passions.

Hey Everyone! My name is Ashley and I am in my third year of my BSc in Psychology. I have always had a love for everything neuroscience, and I plan to take that passion with me as I apply to medical schools to become a neurologist. Beyond academics, you can find me living life in the fast lane as an avid barrel racer or spending time with my four-legged family. Lets have a great year RDP! 🧠✨💃🏻

Hi, my name is Tele and I’m a fist year rep at the psych society! My interest in psychology comes from wanting to learn how the brain works, we’re our thoughts come from and how they transform. I’m glad to share my experience as a volunteer with the Women’s Centre here and learn more! I’m a university science student and an avid book reader. I enjoy listening to music, going on hikes and a favourite book is Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow!

I am in my fourth year of my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and I am passionate about studying interpersonal relationships. When I’m not studying, I like to crochet, read, and spend time with friends and family. I am so excited to see where the rest of the year takes us!

Hi Psych Society! I'm Amanda Brouwer a third-year Bachelor of Science in Psychology student and your third-year representative on the Psych Society! I've always been pationate about serving my community. I was elected in grade 12 to serve my high school peers on Minister LaGrange’s Ministrs Youth Council. I was also elected as the Vice President Academic of the Students Assication and served RDP in the 2023/2024 academic year. I can't wait to see what the Psych Society accomplished this year!

I am in my fourth year at Red Deer Polytechnic in the BA of Psychology, and hope to move onto grad school in occupational therapy!
